Arrived Safe and Sound!

Hi Everyone!

Finally have this blog ship shape and ready for blogging! My flights all went fine. Only problem was security in Portland. They were suspicious of my tiny hand sanitzer bottles. Guess I looked like a mad scientist back there. Oh well.
My flight to Vancouver was chill. Sat next to a Asian guy who I think was Japanese from his accent. He mainly did texting and slept. At least we didn't bother each other while we napped. The transfer was simple. They had the passengers fill out a landing declaration card even if we were just passing through. Almost all the people in line needed pens and I had just the write number. It made me all happy to do a small act of service :)

Flying to London was FANTASTIC. The British couple I sat with helped me load my backpack in a overhead bin and the lady even asked the stewardess for a muffin and yogurt for me while I was sleeping later on during the flight. Plus they were such a cute couple :) The seats were huge like first class (the first class seats were even bigger. Don't even know how that's possible) and they had a screen to watch movies, listen to music, play games on, etc. on each seat for each person. I watched "The Sound of Music" and a little bit of "Dinosaur" before I fell asleep (haha). Even the food was great! For dinner, I had a chicken on rice with veggies, a roll, and a very yummy chocolate cake.

Julie Herbertson (my wonderful hostess) came to pick me up. We made a nice little chat about music, church news, what Utah and the Northwest are like, What England weather is like, and such. While all this chatting was going on, my excitement kept growing! In my mind I would say, "There's a British tree! Oh look at that British stoplight! Wow, those are gorgeous British flowers (The plants and stoplights look the same to the ones in the USA, I just thought them to be more exotic then they really are)!"

When we arrived at the Old Rectory (The Herbertson Home), I met Nathan (Julie's son) and Nana (Cliff's mom) and Julie showed me to my room. After I unpacked most of my things, Julie and I left to go pick up Connor (Julie's youngest son) from school. After we returned, Julie showed me around the house and I got to meet 3 adorable little dogs, and Jim who lives next door.

Now I'm just finishing my unpacking and of course writing up all this. I shall now work on uploading pictures and hopefully get them up today before hitting the hay :)

  1. I am very happy that you arrived safely. I am grateful that people (including the Asian gentleman on your first flight) were kind to you. Heavenly Father hears and provides answers to our prayers. Please enjoy every moment and breathe all the air as much as you can! Please give me deepest gratitude to the Herbertsons and everyone you meet how thankful I am for their kindness and hospitality. Please take pictures with Prince William and Princess Kate if you can. Yes...hand sanitizer is sooooo important when you are traveling! Let me know if you need anything. I look forward to hearing from you with more updates! Lots of love and hugs to you. mom

  2. I like this blog! I think it's a good idea! It was fun to hear how you were excited to see British flowers, trees, stoplights, etc. Be sure to take lots of pictures. Can you eletronically archive everything on this blog? Be sure to thank the Herbertsons! Did they like the token gift we gave them when you landed? When are you going to meet Aly Conteh? Are you going to stop by his work at the British Library? I am so happy to hear that your flight to London was luxurious. Zach and I were worried that the flight would be like flying a tin can because of the price we paid for it. Zach is relieved. Hopefully your flight back to the USA will be just as nice. Yes... Hana you must return to the USA. You are NOT allowed to stay there forever. ;)
    Love,
    Your Dad and Zach
